Manuel Martin lives with his family in Las Alpujarras a beautiful mountainous region of Southern Spain. To the north is the National Park of the Sierra Nevada with peaks rising to over three thousand meters. To the south La Contraviersa rising up to nearly two thousand meters and covered in terraces of olives and almonds. To the east lies the Sierra de Gador, a dry single mountain of over two thousand meters. An area rich in Roman and Moorish history and made popular by the writer Gerald Brenan.
